Nora Blessner, Shavertown, has been named director of development at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Blessner earned her B.S. in Rehabilitation Education and her M.S. in Health Policy and Administration from Penn State University. As director of development, Blessner is responsible for managing the campus' fundraising efforts and working with the chancellor to identify goals and execute strategies.

Prior to joining Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Blessner worked at College Misericordia in Dallas, Pa. where she coordinated a $10 million effort to build a library, complete campus renovations, and raise endowments. "Needless to say, I am thrilled to be a part of the Penn State family again. I am very excited to get to work to help the Wilkes-Barre campus move forward and make it the best possible place to be for students, faculty, staff, and our community."

Blessner, a native of the Philadelphia area, now resides in Shavertown with husband, Daniel, and three daughters.
