Price selected for John R. Murphy Award
Penn State Wilkes-Barre senior, Cynthia Price, of Wilkes-Barre, has been selected to receive the John R. Murphy Award for Excellence in Leadership and Service - Graduating Senior Award. This award was established by alumnus, Rick Barry, to recognize a graduating senior whose outstanding qualities of leadership, service, scholarship, citizenship, and character have been directed into programs and service on campus and/or in the community that have positively influenced fellow students and have contributed to the prestige and well being of the Wilkes-Barre campus and the University as a whole.
In addition to maintaining an exceptional grade point average, Price was an active member in the Student Government Association, the Four Seasons Club, and the women’s soccer team. She is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen and for the past five years, she has been a sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves. She will receive her diploma from Penn State on May 15 with a bachelor’s degree in business/marketing and management.
