Plaque dedicated to Martin U. Dougherty
A plaque inscribed to the memory of Martin U. Dougherty, A.I.A., P.E., former member of the advisory board at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, was dedicated recently at Penn State Wilkes-Barre in Lehman.
The plaque will be displayed in the Café Commons which was designed by The Architectural & Engineering Group, Inc., of which Dougherty was founding partner and president. The Café won the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce Pride of Place Award in 2003.
Dougherty became a member of Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s advisory board in 1999 and served on the planning and nominating committees. He earned his bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering in 1972 from Penn State University and was a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Architects, the NCARB, and the Penn State Chapter of Wyoming Valley.
