Due to the generosity of alumni and friends of Penn State Wilkes-Barre, we award over 160 scholarships to our students.  Approximately 70% of these young men and women are the first generation to attend college, and 75% of whom receive some sort of financial aid.

A unique opportunity: consider purchasing a brick on the Hayfield Pathway and help pave the way for deserving students to attend Penn State Wilkes-Barre! As part of the Hayfield Pathway Endowed Scholarship, you can have a brick engraved with your own name, or leave a lasting tribute to a Penn State graduate, a friend, or relative.

For additional information on creating an endowed scholarship or award, please contact Karen Brace-Hodle, External Relations Assistant at (570) 675-9228 or via e-mail at klb14@psu.edu.

We are extremely grateful to the following individuals, families, and organizations who have funded scholarships and awards at Penn State Wilkes-Barre.

"Many in this area couldn’t afford to attend college without the help given to them in the form of a scholarship. A scholarship doesn’t go to waste. The recipients of scholarships that I saw in class were the ones working hard, applying themselves, getting the good grades.”
— Peter Kennedy, alumnus

"Generous contributors to our scholarship fund: you are making an investment in each and every one of us and our futures. This investment may oftentimes seem dangerous, but it is usually well worth the risk, because it pays dividends in the end. We wouldn’t have the chance to study and become scholars, we wouldn't have the chance to become well-rounded individuals ... We are grateful to you for taking the risk, and investing in our futures.”
— Vern Gernhart, sophomore, Civil Engineering
