Summer Youth Camps – Letter from the Director
As the Director of Continuing Education, I would like to invite you to join in the celebration of Penn State Wilkes Barre’s centennial anniversary. In celebration of 100 years of educational excellence, we are offering some of our camps at the discounted price of $100. This summer we are pleased to offer 27 camps for students entering grades 1–12, during the weeks of June 27–July 1 and July 11–July 15. We will be offering several new camps, including Mindcraft Modders, Soccer, Earth and Space Camp, You’re an Author, Fiesta Espanola – Fun with Spanish, and many more. All of our campers will receive a special anniversary Penn State buff (like they wear on Survivor) for helping us celebrate.
Our Continuing Education staff is dedicated to providing a safe, educational and fun camp experience for your child. Each summer we review our camp’s policies and procedures and institute any changes to better ensure the well-being of our campers. All of our instructors, camps aides, and volunteers receive training and information about their responsibilities and expectations, and all are required to pass reference and background checks, including a criminal background check and child abuse check. Our instructors and staff members supervise campers throughout their entire day on campus. During the day, campers are escorted and supervised to and from all destinations. If you have any concerns, feel free to contact me or visit Information for Parents.
Parents/guardians may sign up for emergency alerts via social media at PSUAlert. This is Penn State's official emergency alerts system. To follow PSUAlert messages on Twitter and Facebook, follow the links below.
