Advising Day Agenda
Check-in for Advising Day is at the Bell Center for Technology. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the building. Directions to campus and a campus map are available via links on the left side of this page.
Students and parents should plan to report to the Bell Center lobby between 8:15 - 8:30 am. To obtain a Penn State ID card and a computer account, you will need to show valid photo identification such as driver's license or passport. (High school ID's are not acceptable.) Please also come prepared with a password that is at least 8 characters in length and includes at least 1 digit; it cannot include any part of the student's name.
The agenda for the morning consists of a welcome to the campus, followed by presentations on academics, financial aid, student activities, and student services. Students will individually meet with an academic advisor to plan their first semester schedules. A technology seminar rounds out the day. Light refreshments will be available.
Sessions for parents/family members are scheduled on strategies for supporting their Penn State students' success. Individual financial aid advising appointments are also available.
Students should prepare for Advising Day by completing assignments designed to help students understand Penn State majors and courses. The Orientation homework is located on the right side of this webpage.
To prepare for selecting classes, we ask students to take a look at the courses listed on the schedule for the Fall semester at www.schedule.psu.edu. (Select the desired semester and the Wilkes-Barre campus on the drop-down menus.)
The Penn State bookstore is open during Advising Day for your convenience.
Advising Day ends by 1:30 p.m.
